I had a patient of ours come in with her hearing aid, and told me it hadn't been working for a week, and this was her first chance she had to come in. She was worried it was broken and needed to be replaced. All she needed was a new receiver, and I also cleaned up her hearing aid. When I handed it back to her, her eyes lit up. She got a really big smile on her face and thanked me for making her week. She said she had been having a rough week, and just me taking the time to listen, clean up her aid and make sure it was working before she left made a big difference for her. -Teri Bailey

I recently fit a patient with upgrade instruments. She related a story that she always took crossword puzzles with her to family events, group gatherings and anywhere she might have to participate. The crossword puzzles were her way to be distracted and not have to participate in conversations. One day recently, she was in the back seat of a car with her husband and their son and daughter-in-law in the front seat. She said they were discussing new hearing devices and how they were truly remarkable in the their capabilities. She not only heard the conversation, but was participating. She said to them, "these are the kind I have." I would like to make a testimonial to your product. I use your hearing aids and want to convey the following story. I was in Parker, AZ 2 weeks ago and wanted to swim in the Colorado River. I waded in about 5 feet and realized that I forgot to take out my hearing aids. I removed the right one but dropped it into the river. I searched for 30 minutes around my feet but could not find it. I finally gave up. The next morning about 18 or 19 hours later I went back to the exact spot that I was standing in the day before in the hope for a miracle. After about 5 minutes I FOUND IT!!!! Now the really amazing part. I took it home figuring it was ruined and as I was about to put a new battery in and try it I decided, just for fun, I would try it with the same battery that was in the river all night and .....not only did the hearing aid still work perfectly but with the same battery!!
